England > tracymar  > Other > Chatsworth interior, Derbyshire, England
Chatsworth is one of the grandest estates in England, and believed to be the model for Pemberley (some scenes in Pride and Prejudice, such as Darcy speaking to Elizabeth outside of Pemberley were filmed here). More photos and annotations to come.

tracymar > Chatsworth was first owned by Bess of Hardwick and Sir William Cavendish in the 16th century, and was rebuilt in its present form around 1700 by the first Duke of Devonshire. When you enter Chatsworth, you pass through the North entrance room and corridor into the magnificent Painted Hall.

tracymar > Chatsworth, Painted Hall, with wrought iron railing and balconies. The room was so large and dark that I couldn't rely on a flash to illumine much of the walls or paintings, so I had to totally underexpose the pictures and lighten them later.
